TARRANT COUNTY, TX - A Tarrant County grand jury has indicted former ROC church pastor Geronimo Aguilar in connection with the sexual assault of a child in 1996 in Fort Worth.
He was indicted on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14, which is a first-degree felony that carries a maximum punishment of life in prison. He was also indicted on two counts of indecency with a child, which is a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
The victim is identified by the pseudonym Lake Valley in the indictment. Aguilar has also been charged in connection with the sexual assault of another, older child in Fort Worth in 1996, but that second case has not yet been presented to the grand jury.
The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office does plan to seek an indictment in that case.
Aguilar remains free on bond.
