Man Breaks into The Crab Lady Restaurant

Posted: Updated:

HENRICO - A man is caught on camera breaking into local restaurant The Crab Lady, stealing food and destroying equipment.

Early Monday morning, the criminal smashed in the front window and went inside, put food in his pockets and the moment he noticed cameras rolling, he ripped the camera out of the ceiling, and threw it on the floor. Moments later, the man started breaking the windows trying to open the back door.

The man eventually went back to the front of the store and crawled through the  window from where he came.

Luckily the restaurant was closed, and no employees were here.

Kim Cullingsworth has owned The Crab Lady Restaurant on Gordon's Lane for the past 11 years.

She and her employees were robbed here at gunpoint a few years ago and this recent break-in has caused her to enhance to security system even more.

"I have another good security system that's we're installing, so we're going to see a lot," she says. "Every little corner of this store will be seen at all time. We've surveyed off campus as well, so whatever is in this store; it's going to be seen outside as well."

Cullingsworth just hopes this man doesn't strike again.

Investigators are still looking at the security footage, and going through all of the evidence.
