ORANGE COUNTY - On Monday September 30, the Orange County Sheriff's Office executed an eviction notice in the Rhoadesville area of Orange County.
While surveying the property, deputies noticed a camper trailer that appeared suspicious. After further investigation they were able to determine that the camper trailer was being used as a meth lab.
K-9 units from Culpeper Co. Sheriff's Office along with VA State Police were called to attempt to locate the suspect, David Gene Thorsted. Units searched for the suspect for several hours but were unsuccessful in locating him.
As a result of the search of the property, the Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task Force seized an undetermined amount of crystal meth, a number of different chemicals and other products used to produce crystal meth and a number of firearms from the camper.
Currently there is an outstanding warrant for David Gene Thorsted for manufacturing Methamphetamine. Thorsted is 55 years old, white male with ties to the Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg area.
This case is still under investigation with more charges pending.
