Halloween Costumes Accused of Being Insensitive

Posted: Updated:

RICHMOND - Some controversial costumes are raising concerns as Halloween approaches including those of Hitler and Osama Bin Laden.

Every year different Halloween costumes come out and it seems like every year some costumes push the limits.

The costumes can be found on different sites online. The Sikh community has been recently speaking out against the costume and some parents agree.

"I think that Halloween is fun, so I would not want to see those costumes out there," says parent Donna Joyce.

"Everyone's always trying to push the envelope," says parent Stephanie Rodriguez. "I don't it's a surprise at all to see something controversial, I think that's sort of the point a lot of times."

But some others don't think it's so harmless. The CEO of the Richmond Jewish Community Federation says it could be highly insensitive to wear costumes like that not knowing who may have been directly affected by figures like Hitler and Bin Laden.
