Dupont Elementary Evacuated after Threatening Phone Call

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC)—The students, faculty and staff at Dupont Elementary are all safe after the school was threatened on Friday morning.

At 9:56 a.m. on Oct. 25, an unknown person called in a non-specific threat. Dupont Elementary was evacuated as a precaution and students were safely back in their classrooms by 10:30 a.m.

Police and fire crews examined the building and declared it safe. Hopewell Police are still investigating leads. Stay with 8News for updates.
