Water Main Break Affecting Traffic Near VCU Medical Center
RICHMOND (WRIC) - A water main break at MCV's Sanger Hall is causing traffic problems and prompted evacuations on VCU's MCV campus Monday.
The break happened just before 2 p.m. at Sanger Hall on E. Marshall St. and forced evacuations at Sanger Hall, Nelson Clinic, the Hunton Student Center and the Children's Pavilion.
Crews are currently working in Sanger Hall to repair a broken water main. As part of the repair work, power has been shut off to part of Sanger Hall and Nelson Clinic's power is also affected.
There is a significant traffic disruption in the area where VCU Police has closed streets and intersections to allow the Richmond Fire Department and Department of Public Works to address the situation.
Traffic is blocked at the intersections of 11th Street and Broad Street, 10th Street and Marshall Street, and 13th Street and Marshall Street.
