Sex Offender Found at Henrico School with Weed in Pocket
HENRICO (WRIC) - Henrico Police arrested a registered sex offender outside Highland Springs High School, who had marijuana in his pocket.
Convicted in 2004 with sexual battery of a minor, Robert Paul, of Blackstone, was found sitting in a car in the parking lot of the school.
Paul was taken into custody for being on school property. Upon search, police found that he had marijuana in his pocket.
Paul has been charged with entering school property after a conviction for sexually violent offense and possession of marijuana.
"Our information indicates that officers responded immediately and the individual was apprehended at his car," says Henrico Schools spokesperson Andy Jenks. "He never entered the school. Students did not have any contact with him, nor were they ever in danger. The instructional day was never interrupted."
