BANKS COUNTY, Ga. (WRIC)—For one woman, a trip to the bathroom at a Georgia Home Depot store quickly turned into a painful, embarrassing nightmare after she became glued to the toilet seat.
Someone had put a Loctite glue substance on the seat and, on Nov. 27, 40-year-old Illyanna De La Keur became stuck. Paramedics had to use WD-40 to remove her from the toilet.
Family members taped the entire rescue in a 17-minute-long video, which they released to ABC affiliate WJBF in Augusta, Ga. De La Keur's painful screams can be heard throughout the video. She sustained injuries to her backside during the incident.
"All I can do is lay here; it's defeating," said De La Keur, who has been forced to stay on her couch, unable to move. "I would just like to be able to get up and be normal. I don't want people to have to wait on me like I'm an invalid, because I'm not."
Anthony Canino, De La Keur's brother-in-law, said, "All through it, I just felt bad for her because I knew she was going to be embarrassed more than anything."
Canino and his wife Aleera, De La Keur's sister, continue to care for her and question why paramedics separated her from the toilet seat on scene, instead of at a hospital.
"I mean, it worked, but it's unsanitary," Aleera Canino said.
Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said his investigators are analyzing surveillance video from Home Depot to determine who put the glue on the toilet seat.
YAHOO! News reported that the store manager found an open bottle of Loctite GO2 glue in a brown paper bag on the bathroom floor, and that the bathroom's other two toilet seats were also covered in glue.
De La Keur's family says they've been contacted once by Home Depot's corporate office.
"It wasn't funny; it wasn't funny at
all," De La Keur said. "Whoever decided to do this hurt somebody; it wasn't a
