HOPEWELL (WRIC) – Saturday at approximately 10:06pm, officers responded to the Walgreen's located at 3901 Oaklawn Blvd. for a reported Armed Robbery that had just occurred. The preliminary investigation revealed that two of the three suspects entered the business while the third suspect remained outside. The two suspects that entered the business approached one of the cash registers at which time Suspect #1 brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. While the robbery was occurring an unsuspecting customer approached the cash register at which time Suspect#2 attempted to rob him. The offenders then fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and cigarettes. No person(s) were injured during the incident. The suspects are described as follows and images captured by surveillance cameras are attached:
Suspect#1 is described as a medium-complected B/M, 30-40 YOA, 5'6"-5'7", 160-170 pounds with a graying mustache. He was last seen wearing a dark in color zip-up hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, dark in color sneakers, white in color gloves and displaying a dark colored handgun.
Suspect#2 is described as a light-complected B/M, 17-20 YOA, 5'5"-5'6", 140-150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark in color jacket with a gray in color hooded sweatshirt underneath, light colored blue jeans with gray in color sneakers.
Suspect#3 is described as a B/M, 5'7"-5'9", 140-150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark in color jacket/hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
The Hopewell Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this matter and is following up on viable leads. The department is requesting that any person(s) who may have been traveling in and around the area of this incident and observed any suspicious person(s) or vehicle(s) contact Detective Mark Polumbo of the Hopewell Police Department at (804) 541-2284. Additionally, any person(s) who have information on this or any other crime occurring in the City of Hopewell may contact the Hopewell/Prince George Crime Solvers at 541-2202.
