RICHMOND (WRIC) - A group of men forced their way into a home in the middle of the night on the 2800 block of West Grace Street.
Police say a group of five to six men armed with guns broke into a home and robbed two people at gunpoint.
Police haven't released many details, including what they took. The victims told police they didn't know the men.
No one was hurt, but the news of this crime has shocked people who live in the area.
Ashley Coleman says she's lived in the Museum District for a few months and normally feels safe in her apartment or walking around.
"It's pretty scary," she says. "[I] fear for myself and for people who live in the neighborhood honestly because like I said I live right up the road."
Patrick Tanner with the museum district association says the only crime they're used to seeing in this neighborhood is the occasional thief stealing out of an unlocked car.
"It's a safe neighborhood so when something like that happens, you kind of take a step back and take account of what you do on a day to day basis," he says. "I feel safe. I will walk over to Carytown for dinner and come back. It's dark out now with daylight saving time. To me, it's just being aware of your surroundings at all times."
Police are still looking for the suspects. If you know anything that can help, call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
