RICHMOND (WRIC)—The 2-month-old baby girl who went missing with her 15-year-old mother on Christmas Eve has been returned to her family.
Bertha Romero-Curbelo left her family's home just before noon on Dec. 24, and was last seen walking toward Hopkins Road carrying her daughter, Natalia, in her arms. The teen does not have custody of the child; the infant's grandmother, Yoelia, is the baby's legal guardian.
Baby Natalia was returned to her family on Christmas Day, but Romero-Cubelo, of the 4000 block of Britannia Road, is still missing. She has shoulder-length curly hair, and was last seen wearing a black jacket with a gold peace sign on the back, blue jeans and black boots.
Romero-Curbelo's family says she has run away before and suspects she may be with her boyfriend.
Anyone with information about the teen's whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Metro Richmond at 804-780-1000.
