COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC)—A husband and wife are now in jail after robbing a bank the afternoon of Christmas Eve.

At 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, Eric Shelton, 40, robbed the EVB Bank at 3012 Boulevard. He wore sunglasses, covered the lower half of his face with a black scarf and demanded money. Shelton escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, and was seen getting into a silver Pontiac G6, which then headed west on Lakeview Avenue.

A police officer in the area spotted Shelton's wife, 39-year-old Angela C. Shelton, driving a vehicle matching that description just outside the city on Lakeview Avenue.

The Shelton's, of Prince George County, were arrested for robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Both are being held at Riverside Regional Jail with no bond.
