CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)—Firefighters from Chesterfield County and the City of Richmond are working together to put out a barn blaze that started Friday morning.
Around 10 a.m. on Jan. 3, Chesterfield Fire & EMS was called to the 5700 block of Kingsland Road for reports that a 40-foot by 40-foot barn was engulfed in flames. The barn was full of hay bales, making the flames extremely difficult to extinguish. The Richmond Fire Department has been called in to assist.
According to Chesterfield Fire Lieutenant Jason Elmore, three Chesterfield tankers and one Richmond tanker are being used to bring water to the scene, since there are no fire hydrants available in the area.
No one, neither persons nor farm animals, were injured.
Crews are expected to remain on scene for several hours to completely extinguish the fire.
