HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)—The Hanover County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection with a series of robberies that occurred at area truck stops last week, after an ABC 8 News story generated a tip from a citizen.
Investigators arrested 28-year-old Brian M. Braxton, of the 15200 block of Concord Road in Caroline County and charged him with four counts of robbery and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Braxton was also charged with five felony counts of abduction. He is being held at Pamunkey Regional jail, pending an arraignment Monday morning in Hanover General District Court.
Sheriff Colonel David Hines said, "I'm exceptionally proud that we were able to quickly solve these robberies and prevent anyone else from being victimized. I'm also very appreciative of the remarkable efforts of those who devoted themselves to solving these crimes. I would also like to extend by sincere appreciation for the media coverage afforded to these incidents and the public's help, which directly assisted us in furthering this investigation."
