UPDATE: Missing Mechanicsville Teen Found

UPDATE: The Hanover County Sheriff's Office announced Friday afternoon that Collins has been located and is in good condition.

She was found at a residence in the City of Richmond shortly after noon on Jan. 17, and investigators were able to locate her based on a tip from a citizen. She has since been returned to her home in Mechanicsville.

The Hanover County Sheriff's Office said in a statement, "The Sheriff's Office would like to extend our sincere appreciation the media for their efforts in quickly communicating this information to the public, which generated the tip that led to Collins' safe recovery. We would also like thank the Richmond Police Department, as well as the public, for their direct assistance."

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)—The Hanover County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating a 16-year-old Mechanicsville girl believed to be in the Richmond area.

Tamara N. "Tete" Collins was last seen leaving her residence voluntarily on Thursday, Jan. 9. She is a black female who is approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair with red highlights. She was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and yellow sweatpants.

No foul play is suspected.

Anyone with information about the teen's whereabouts is asked to call the Hanover County Sheriff's Office at 804-365-6140 or Crime Stoppers of Metro Richmond at 804-780-1000.
