UPDATE: The scene has been cleared and Beach Road is now open to traffic.

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)—Route 655/Beach Road will be shut down between Woodland Pond Parkway and Nestor Road for up to six hours on Wednesday due to an overturned log truck.

The truck overturned around 3 a.m. on Feb. 5, and Beach Road will remain closed until at least noon. The Virginia Department of Transportation says drivers should follow the posted detour:

Eastbound: Take Route 654/Bundle Road south to Route 626/Woodpecker Road east. Then turn left onto Route 636/Nash Road north to Woodland Pond Parkway. Turn right back onto Route 655/Beach Road.

Westbound: Take Woodland Pond Parkway south to Route 636/Nash Road south. Then turn right onto Route 626/Woodpecker Road west to Route 654/Bundle Road north. Turn left back onto Route 655/Beach Road.

A VDOT worker told Reporter Nadeen Yanes that, according to the driver, the logs shifted, causing the truck to go into a ditch and turn over. No injuries have been reported.
