RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia's two primary utility companies are reporting less than 10,000 customers without power.
Dominion Virginia Power's outage website on Thursday showed 4,682 outages in the southeastern part of the state, just under 3,000 in the Richmond area, and about 1,200 in Southside Virginia.
The company is the state's largest utility with 2.4 million customers. It called in crews from three states to assist during a winter storm that blanketed parts of the state with more than a foot of snow.
Appalachian Power Co. reports 550 outages in Washington County, located in far southwest Virginia.
