NORFOLK, Va. (WRIC)—Norfolk Police have arrested two young men in connection with the beating death of Varina High School graduate and Old Dominion University sophomore Paul Johnson.
Paul Johnson, 20, was walking along the 1000 block of West 48th Street in Norfolk around 1 a.m. on Feb. 23 when he was struck in the head by a suspect. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m.
Christopher Chase Johnson, 20, of the 3000 block of Seminole Road in Woodbridge, turned himself into the Norfolk Police Department, Police Operations Center. He has been charged with misdemeanor assault in connection with Paul Johnson's death.
David William Grimm Jr., 21, of the 3200 block of Lost Pond Court in Triangle, has been charged with second degree murder. He was arrested by Prince William County Police and is currently being processed for arrest.
The Norfolk Police Department and ODU Police Department continue to investigate the case. At this time, ABC 8 News is respecting the Johnson family's request not to air a photo of their deceased son.
