RICHMOND (WRIC)A Richmond Police detective is being credited for having a good eye after he solved a theft at a local clothing store.

Surveillance video obtained exclusively by ABC 8News shows four teenagers breaking windows at "The Source" store late on a Saturday night in February. The teens entered the store and stole jackets and jeans, among other items.

A few days later, Detective Harry Brown was driving in a Richmond neighborhood when he spotted a teenage boy wearing a Nike jacket and a New York Giants hat
both items that were missing from the store.

"I saw one of the kids walking around with that combination, so I stopped him," Detective Brown said. "Once I stopped him, he came clean and was honest about what happened."

Brown said the young man confessed; all of the teenagers are now facing multiple charges.

Brown credits good fortune in helping to solve the crime.

"It was a lot of luck and being in the right place at the right time," Brown said.
