RICHMOND (WRIC)—The Richmond Recycling, Inc. warehouse suffered damage in a fire that broke out early Tuesday morning in southside Richmond.
Around 1:15 a.m. on March 11, Richmond Fire crews were called to the business at 2500 Decatur St. for reports of heavy smoke and fire coming from the building. A Richmond Ambulance Authority vehicle was in the area and arrived on scene to assist the crews.
According to Lieutenant Robbie Hagaman, firefighters went into “attack mode” to extinguish the blaze, which was marked under control around 1:45 a.m.
There is no indication that anyone was inside the compound when the fire broke out and no injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
