At 11:44 a.m. on Friday, March 7, a black man wearing blue jeans, a red sweatshirt and a black knit hat entered the SunTrust Bank at 1801 W. Broad St. and demanded money from the teller in a note. He then fled on foot. No weapon was displayed.
On Tuesday, a Fourth Precinct officer spotted a man matching the suspect’s description walking near the intersection of North Ninth and Marshall streets and arrested him without incident. Charles E. Jackson, of the 3300 block of North Avenue, has been charged with bank robbery.
