CHURCH HILL, TN (WRIC) - A Tennessee woman allegedly crashed her car into a church and then stabbed her husband in the chest after telling him, "The devil is in me."
Police say that around 10 p.m. Sunday, Stephanie Hamman drove her car through the front doors of Providence Church. Her husband, Steve Hamman went into the building to check on her, where she then stabbed him with a large kitchen knife.
According to reports from WJHL in Johnson City, Tennessee, Stephanie Hamman said she had decided to live for God and that she was mad because her husband was "worshiping the NASCAR race at Bristol" and said that God wanted her to drive into the church.
She reportedly asked police if her husband was dead and said that she smokes a lot of "weed."
"I love to smoke it," she said, according to reports. "Sometimes when I do, I start seeing things that others don't. Isn't God good? He told me this would happen, and just look, I am okay."
Stephanie Hamman was charged with attempted first-degree murder and felony vandalism. Steven Hamman was reported to be in fair condition Monday afternoon.
