Chesterfield County Holds Special Election Tuesday

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)Chesterfield County is holding a Special Election Tuesday to elect a sheriff and school board member for the Midlothian District.

Polls opened at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Five people are running for the Midlothian School Board Member position. Bill Colgate, Debra Girvin, Dianne Mallory-Coble, Bob Olsen and Gary Powers are the candidates listed on the Chesterfield County Government website. None of them currently hold the seat.

Republican Karl Leonard is running unopposed for sheriff.

To confirm your polling place or for ballot information go the Virginia Election and Registration Information System or call 804-748-1471.

The Electoral Board will meet March 19 at 9:30 a.m. in the Office of the General Registrar to count the votes.
