CHESTERFIELD (WRIC) - Virginia State Police were on the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer on the on-ramp from Route 60/Midlothian Turnpike eastbound to Route 76/Powhite Parkway northbound.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, a 2006 Kenworth tractor-trailer was entering onto Route 76 from Route 60 when the driver lost control and ran off the left side of the roadway.  The tractor-trailer overturned onto the driver's side. The trailer was loaded with approximately 40,000 pounds of bottled water.

The driver, Homero I. Perez, 52, of Wendell, N.C., suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Chippenham Medical Center.  He was charged with reckless driving for failure to maintain control.

Speed is considered a factor in the on-going crash investigation.
