RICHMOND (WRIC)—Huguenot High School was evacuated Thursday morning for reports of a smoky odor inside the building.

According to Felicia Cosby, a public information officer for Richmond Public Schools, a light ballast was the source of the smoke.

Richmond Fire crews quickly cleared the scene and students were allowed back into the building around 8:30 a.m.

The school is located at 7945 Forest Hill Avenue, east of Buford Road and west of Route 150/Chippenham Parkway.
