UPDATE: Virginia Beach School will now allow Adrionna Harris to return to school Friday after initially facing expulsion for her actions.

VIRGINIA BEACH (WRIC) - A sixth grader that took a razor away from a student who was cutting himself could be suspended.

According to reports, Adrionna Harris took a razor from the student, threw it away told the school administration what happened.
She was hit with a 10 day suspension with a recommendation for expulsion for violating the school's zero tolerance policy on weapons.

"i was just trying to help," Harris says. "I didn't really flash it or wave it at anyone. I took it and threw it away."
     
After hearing about the incident, Virginia Beach City Public Schools has agreed to move Harris' suspension hearing, which was supposed to be in ten days, to Thursday.

Her family hopes to have her back in class by Friday. No word yet on if that happened.
