Tyrone Jaigetts is the caretaker at Crestview Cemetery, where someone dug their way down to the casket of a 7 month old child. Jaigetts says no one has been buried there since December and says since then he hasn't noticed anything out of the ordinary until finding out about the disturbed grave site when he got a call from investigators.
"I hadn't seen that new dirt until the police, the Sheriff called."
The plot belongs to Carolyn Moore's nephew who died back in 1999. She is dumbfounded as to why anyone would do this.
"I don't understand why somebody would do something like this," she says. "I mean you gotta be sick or something, I don't understand, I don't know."
It's a crime that has the community concerned and checking up on their loved ones, not only at Restview Cemetery but also a few miles away at Canaan Cemetery where another grave site was dug up.
When Edna Hostetter and her sister found out someone had dug up a burial site, they went to the cemetery to check on their loved ones.
"I come to check my mom and dad's out just to make sure that everything was ok," she says. "I was very shocked, I didn't know what was going on."
Hostetter says it's been a long time since she has heard of anyone committing such a shocking crime.
"When I was a kid I used to hear of people going out and robbing the graves, but like I said I'm 70 something years old and I've never heard of it since then."
James Simmons went to Crestview Cemetery to check on his wife.
"I heard that people were coming here and taking things out of the grave and I just wanted to check and make sure that it was still there," he says.
Authorities still aren't saying if anything was taken from the graves. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department.
