Divers Return To DC Park In Search of Missing Girl
WASHINGTON (AP) - Teams of divers have returned to the waters of a District of Columbia park, continuing the search for a missing 8-year-old girl.
Relisha Rudd was last seen on March 1 with Kahlil Tatum, a janitor at the city homeless shelter where Relisha lived. After authorities began searching for the girl, police found Tatum's wife dead in a motel room in Oxon Hill, Md.
Police spokesman Hugh Carew says the search resumed Saturday in Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens. He says a foot search will resume Monday.
Police Chief Cathy Lanier said Friday that the search of the 700-acre park is "very technical" and includes divers going into small bodies of water.
