Monday at midnight is the deadline to sign up for health insurance
RICHMOND, VA (WRIC) - Six million people have already signed up for health insurance to comply with the Affordable Care Act, and if you're not one of them, you have until March 31 to register for a plan.
David C. Wooldridge is an insurance agent in Richmond. He's helped dozens of people sign up in the past few weeks and says everything you need is on healthcare.gov.
"Enroll and log on to the marketplace to find out all the details."
That's where you can read about the different coverage options.
"The questions sometimes come down to the different plans, but again if you do your research on the website, a lot of that stuff is explained,” said Wooldridge.
If you have questions, you can also call the health insurance marketplace at 800-318-2596. The call center is open 24/7.
"They may have to wait, but they will get a response,” said Wooldridge.
If you've already started an application but didn't finish because of missing information, errors or website glitches, there is a grace period. The federal government said it will accept those applications until April 7.
