Cheetah Cubs Now on Public Display at Metro Richmond Zoo

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - The famous Richmond cheetah cubs went on public display for the first time Tuesday.

The public can now see Chester, Richie, Rico, Hanna and Amelia in person at the Metro Richmond Zoo. People had been able to view them on the cheetah cam, but it was taken down last week to move the cubs and mom, Lana, to the new cheetah building at the zoo.

Zoo officials first moved the mom cheetah into a crate by enticing her with food. They then moved the cubs into their own containers. They were kept in a night holding area while getting used to the new area and zoo officials said they have been adjusting well.
