COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -

The Colonial Heights Animal Shelter is seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman who was caught punching a dog on tape outside its facility on Monday.

According to a recent post on the CHAS Facebook page, a woman dropped off five tanks full of fish at the shelter on March 31. She also punched a German Shepherd that was in her car.

The suspect is a black woman who appears to be 25 to 35 years old. She wore her hair in braided rows at the time of the incident. Her vehicle looks to be a newer-model Ford Explorer that is silver or gray.
