ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -

Two adults are facing felony charges after a 10-year-old child died from an apparent gunshot wound at an Orange County residence on Sunday evening.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports that at approximately 11:10 p.m. on April 6, deputies found a 10-year-old child who had died of an apparent gunshot wound.

In the course of an investigation of the situation, 37-year-old Billy Joe Lee was charged with felony child abuse and neglect, shooting in the commission of a felony, discharge of a firearm within the dwelling house with death of an individual and child endangerment.

Tina Marie Toombs, 36, of Orange, was charged with one count of felony child abuse and neglect.
