Foo Fighters Agree to Play Richmond After Crowdfunding Effort

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - The Foo Fighters have not played a show in Richmond for more than 15 years, but now thanks to a successful online fundraising effort, it looks like they may play here again.

In March, a group of friends began selling 1,400 Foo Fighters concert tickets through a Crowdhoster website in hopes that the band sees the grassroots effort and schedule a show in Richmond. The goal was $70,000 and tickets were $50 each. The organizers say if the show doesn’t happen, everyone will get their money back.

On Friday night, the Foo Fighters sent the following tweet:

There are no details yet on where or when the band would be playing. The Foo Fighters last played Richmond at the Classic Amphitheater in May 1998.
