Hairston’s 21-year-old daughter, Selena Hairston, and Jamarr Hursey, 25, were both originally charged with conspiracy to commit murder. This week, they were each indicted on charges of first-degree murder.
According to an affidavit obtained by ABC 8News, Yvette Hairston admitted to killing Myers in an upstairs bedroom of her home on the 1300 block of Evert Avenue before hiding her body in a closet in an adjacent room. The document also states that Hairston researched how to clean up blood online before heading to Walmart to purchase items needed to dispose of her stepsister’s body. She allegedly dumped the body early the next morning. Search warrants also reveal that an iPad, laptop and hammer, among other items, were seized from Hairston’s home.
