RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -
Instead of the court, VCU men's basketball coach Shaka Smart and University of Richmond men's basketball coach Chris Mooney are taking each other on at the dinner table.
The two coaches will face off at the 2nd Annual Coaches' Cook-Off, benefitting Max's Positive Vibe Café, which will be held at the Science Museum of Virginia on April 17.
The coaches will be assisted by local chefs and will have both judges and attendees vote on the best dish for a Judge's Award and People's Choice Award. Smart will be teaming up with Buz Grossberg, of Buz and Ned's Real Barbecue and will be assisted by Jim Ertel, executive chef at the Salisbury Country Club. Mooney will be cooking with the help of Glenn Pruden, executive chef at University of Richmond and will be assisted by Gary Whitecotton, executive chef at the Country Club of Virginia.
