Posted: Updated:
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -
Wednesday around 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the 3900 block of Oaklawn Blvd. for a report of a shooting. Officers located one male victim, age 18, of Hopewell, with a "grazing" gunshot wound to the upper arm. The offender fled on foot. The victim was transported to John Randolph Medical Center. The shooting does not appear to be a random act and the victim is not cooperating with investigators.

The offender is described as a younger, light skinned black male with an afro-style haircut pulled back, wearing a black hat and a black hoodie.
A window at a nearby Walgreen's pharmacy was damaged during the incident, but no one in the store was injured.

Anyone with information on this crime is urged to contact the Hopewell Police Department at 541-2222, or the Hopewell/Prince George Crime Solvers at 541-2202.
