CHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -
Authorities in Charles City County say a 26-year-old woman missing since Easter Sunday morning was found dead inside her vehicle Monday afternoon.
LaShanda Monic Jones was last seen April 20 between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. She was leaving the Sunoco in Prince George County at the intersection of Route 10 and Route 106, heading north toward Charles City County in her blue 2000 Ford Mustang. The car has tinted windows and license plates reading WZ-3989.
At about 3:00 p.m., Jones was found insider her vehicle, unresponsive. Emergency crews were called to the scene, and she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Her car was found on a dirt road in the lower section of Charles City County.
Investigators are currently conducting a death investigation and Jones' body has been transported to the medical examiner's office in Richmond to determine her cause of death.
