7-Year-Old Boy Shot to Death in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) - An investigation is underway after a Franklin County boy was fatally shot Monday morning.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said it received a 911 call around 11:45 a.m. on April 21 in reference to a shooting in the Burnt Chimney Community. When officers arrived at the home on Double Oaks Lane they found a 7-year-old child lying on the floor with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation is on-going.
