YORKTOWN, Va. (WRIC) - According to York-Poquoson authorities, a couple is facing several charges after leaving their three children home alone while they burglarized an ABC store.

Lieutenant Dennis Ivey told ABC affiliate WVEC that Edward Gregory and Elizabeth Pruitt stole several bottles of alcohol from the Village Avenue ABC store in Yorktown around 3:20 a.m. on April 14.

After searching the area, deputies located first the stolen alcohol and then the couple, according to Lt. Ivey.

"It was later discovered that they had left the children, ages 8, 5 and 3, alone in the house while they went out and committed the burglary," said Lt. Ivey.

Gregory, 51, and Pruitt, 28, now face several charges including abuse and neglect of children, wearing a mask and grand larceny.
