Downtown Richmond Water Main Break Impacts Residents, Businesses

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -

Many downtown Richmond residents and businesses near Seventh Street are being impacted by a water main break that occurred Friday morning.

According to the City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities, Seventh Street is currently closed between East Main and East Cary streets.

The following street sections have been impacted by the water main break, but remain open: Seventh Street between East Main and East Franklin streets, East Cary Street between Fifth and Seventh streets, East Main Street between Sixth and Seventh streets and Sixth Street between East Main and East Cary streets.

Crews are currently working to shut off the water in the area, and can then begin repairing the damaged water main.
