Chesterfield Teen Killed in Car Crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) - The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a local teen on Friday night. The crash occurred on Woodlake Village Parkway near the intersection with Clipper Cove Road at approximately 10 p.m. on April 25.

Police said the vehicle, a 2007 Mazda 3, was traveling east on Woodlake Village Parkway and ran off the road, striking a tree. A passenger, Tyler Patnaude, 18, of Chesterfield County, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounce deceased. 

Two other passengers were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police continue their investigation into the crash. .

A vigil will be held Sunday, April 27 at the Woodlake Pavilion at 7 p.m. Friends of Tyler are wearing red on Monday in tribute to his love of sailing.
