HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -
An 86-year-old woman has died as a result of injuries she sustained in a three-vehicle crash near the intersection of Seven Hills Boulevard and Miller Road on Friday afternoon.
Around 1:05 p.m. on April 25, Henrico County Police responded to the scene of the crash, where a Ford Focus had collided with a GMC Sierra after failing to obey a stop sign. The Focus was traveling north on Miller road at the same time a GMC Sierra was traveling east on Seven Hills Boulevard and a Honda Odyssey was traveling west on Seven Hills Boulevard. The driver of the Focus approached the intersection and collided with the Sierra, and then the Odyssey, after failing to stop at the stop sign.
The drivers of all three vehicles were transported to local hospitals. Two of the drivers were released after being treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Ford, a 55-year-old woman from Marathon, Fla., has been charged with failure to obey a stop sign. She remains in the hospital with what police say are "significant injuries."
Mildred L. Grady, 86, of the 7000 block of Turner road in Varina, was a passenger in the Focus. She was transported to VCU Medical Center on Friday with life-threatening internal injuries. She succumbed to those injuries on Saturday.
