Highland Springs High School was placed on lockdown briefly Wednesday, after a loaded gun was found in a vehicle in the parking lot.

Highland Springs High School was placed on lockdown for nearly two hours Wednesday afternoon, after police found a loaded handgun in a vehicle in the school's parking lot. There were no injuries.
The incident began when a Henrico Police School Resource Officers recieved information that a student may have had a weapon on school property, located at 15 South Oak Avenue.
Officers then located a loaded handgun inside a vehicle in the school's parking lot, which prompted school officials to enact a lockdown around 2:15 p.m. The school lockdown was lifted around 3:45 p.m.
There are no reports of injury, or that the gun was used in a threatening manner.
Police are questioning two persons of interest, both males, one 17 years old and the other 18 years old. At this time, no charges have been filed.
