RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - ABC 8News viewers, rejoice: the wettest part of this rainy week is over. Though some rain will linger in the morning, sunny skies and warm temperatures will return Thursday afternoon and last through the weekend.

Showers will be moving through the region Thursday morning with the possibility of some thunder. Then, sunshine will return this afternoon and it will be a nice day, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. It will be clear Thursday night and pleasantly cool, with lows in the lower to middle 50s.

Saturday and Sunday will feature mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower to middle 70s. Sunday will be a little warmer with partly sunny skies, and high temperatures will climb back to near 80 degrees.

Monday will start off with partly sunny skies, but a weak weather system could bring an evening thunderstorm or two. Tuesday through Thursday will feature partly sunny skies with highs in the middle and upper 70s.
