Dr. Art Ulene Supports New HelpCare Plus Discount Plan that Can Create Huge Savings for Nursing Home, Assisted Living and Home Health Care, Hearing Aids, MRIs and More

DALLAS, May 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Seniors and members of their households can receive substantial discounts for many types of health care products and services, including Long Term Care, hearing aids and MRIs, thanks to a new, comprehensive membership discount program called HelpCare Plus. Memberships are available at a modest cost and all applicants will be accepted for the program, which has a nationwide network of more than 220,000 providers.

"For everyone who is uncertain about the changes in health care and the increasing costs of Long Term Care, HelpCare Plus offers a solution," said co-founder James W. Finkenkeller. "Our discount program provides substantial cost savings for a variety of expensive services that often are direct out-of-pocket costs borne by many families."

Founded by respected health-care industry veterans, HelpCare Plus is dedicated to helping families cope with rising costs of health care and preserve their savings for retirement. Program and enrollment information is available online at http://www.HelpCarePlus.com.

"I'm supporting this new health discount program because it can save some families thousands of dollars on vital medical services," said noted medical commentator, Dr. Art Ulene, a regular on NBC's TODAY program for 23 years and Medical Director for HelpCare Plus.  "The rising cost of Long Term Care, for example, has created a crisis for many families."

"HelpCare Plus is not insurance, but it can be an attractive option for many individuals and families," Finkenkeller confirmed. "No one will be turned down because of past health problems and there is no limit on discounts or any restrictions on how many members of the same household take advantage of them."

In addition to Long Term Care services, HelpCare Plus offers discounts on a wide variety of medical products and services.  Those discounts include:

  • 15% savings off the national average price for hearing exam services and programmable or digital hearing aids.
  • Savings of up to 75% on costly MRI and CT scans.
  • Up to 85% on prescription drugs.
  • 20% to 40% on Chiropractic and 50% Podiatric provider fees.

Discounts are also available on eyeglasses, retail prescription drugs, dental care, vitamins, and diabetes management products.  A membership in HelpCare Plus is priced at $29.95 per month with a 30-day trial period.  Members can cancel the program at any time without penalty.  The product can also be used by every individual in the member's household, making it a product that can provide discounts to an entire family through a single membership.

"Every family faces the possibility of huge out-of-pocket costs," Ulene pointed out.  "The HelpCare Plus discount program can make a huge difference when serious illness strikes, but the savings can be very significant, also, on essential items like eyeglasses, hearing aids and prescription drugs, and our confidential nurse helpline service is there for every member at the time of need."

HelpCare Plus was developed by seniors, for seniors striving to protect their future financial health. But their interest and experience doesn't stop there. Many of the contributors to HelpCare Plus' development have been involved in and around the Health Care industry for more than 20 years.  They concentrated on creating customer-focused relationships while helping consumers find ways to cut their health care costs.

HelpCare Plus is NOT insurance and it is not a qualified health plan under the Affordable Care Act. It does not meet the minimum creditable coverage requirements in Massachusetts under M.G.L. c. 111M and 956 CMR 5.00.  The plan provides discounts at certain health care providers for medical services. HelpCare Plus does not make payments directly to the providers of medical services. The plan member is obligated to pay for all health care services received, but will receive a discount from those health care providers who have contracted with HelpCare Plus. The range of discounts will vary depending on the provider type and services provided.  To view a listing of participating providers visit www.HelpCarePlus.com.

HelpCare Plus is administered by Coverdell & Company, Inc., a discount medical plan organization at 8770 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60631, 1-800-308-0374.  Members have the right to cancel this plan within 30 days of the effective date for a full refund of membership fees paid.
