?The entire mountain at Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre is covered with millions of tiny fibers called Snowflex; the material was invented by Brian Thomas and is used exclusively at the Centre. Snowflex actually mimics the slip and slide of real snow. Underfoot, it crunches just like the real thing and provides a perfect surface for skiing and snowboarding.?
General Manager Douglas Sherwood explained all that the Snowflex Centre has to offer.
"We offer skiing, snowboarding and tubing--no matter what the weather conditions are. It is a synthetic surface; we use water to prevent friction, [and] help you maintain your speed. You can anything from taking lessons to free skiing and snowboarding, the terrain park as well as hang out in our lodge and overlook the Blue Ridge Mountains.?"
The summit of the mountain overlooks Liberty University...a simply gorgeous view. This place is literally one of a kind: There?'s not another like it in all of North America and it?'s right here in our own backyard!
What if you don't know how to ski or snowboard? Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre is the place to learn.
"Snowflex is probably the best facility for anyone who is not familiar with skiing or snowboarding," said Sherwood. "Any first-timers or even people who are a little rusty, they haven?'t done it in a couple years, this is the best place to learn."
And if you'?re on a budget (as most of us are), The Snowflex Centre has got you covered!
Sherwood explains, "Our price is probably the most affordable package in the country. During the weekday, Monday through Thursday, it is $5.00 an hour for a lift ticket and a one-time rental fee for the equipment of $12.?"
All equipment, repairs and everything you?'d expect from a mountain resort is on the premises and priced more affordably than anywhere else."
Liberty also has two tubing tracks that are sure to give the perfect adrenaline rush and are a favorite of most everyone who visits.
All in all, there is so much to do and see at Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre. From the fantastic scenery to top-notch staff, it?'s all just a short daytrip away!Do you have any Daytrippers destinations in mind?
