Richmond Police Pursuit Ends in Crash, Closes Mayo Bridge

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - The Mayo Bridge was closed in both directions for roughly an hour on Wednesday in the wake of a police pursuit that ended in a crash shortly before noon.

According to police, a suspect wanted for a property crime fled, crashing into the side of the bridge when police chased him. No officers were involved in the crash and the suspect is now in custody.

The suspect, Lynnberg Evans, Jr, 56, was taken for medical attention. He was charged with Felony Elude and he is still a suspect in a property crime case.
