Richmond Police Charge Man in Blackwell Double Shooting

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -

The Richmond Police Department has arrested and charged a 49-year-old man in connection with a double shooting that occurred near Blackwell Elementary School on Tuesday evening.

Around 6 p.m. on May 20, two teenage males, aged 17 and 19, were shot following an argument on the 1400 block of Maury Street. One was shot in the back, the other in the arm. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.

On May 21, the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Walter Nathaniel Hill Jr., of the 1700 block of Albany Avenue, without incident in Richmond. Hill is charged with Malicious Wounding and the Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony in connection with the double shooting.
