Natural Gas Main Renewal Work to Close Forest Hill Avenue for Months

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - Road work to repair natural gas lines on Forest Hill Avenue beginning Thursday could affect Richmond drivers’ commutes for months.

Beginning May 29, the City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities will close sections of Forest Hill Avenue (Route 683) between Powhite Parkway (Route 76) and Jahnke Road (Route 686) for the natural gas main renewal work.

The work is expected to last for about 90 days; during this time, westbound traffic will be limited to one lane between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
