RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -
All southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Richmond were shut down near the Downtown Expressway on Friday afternoon, due to an accident.
The southbound lane closures began around 4 p.m. on May 30. The left northbound lane was also shut down. At one point there was a 10-mile backup, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
As of 5:30 p.m., all lanes had reopened. Drivers are still encouraged to use an alternate route during the Friday evening rush hour, as there may be residual delays.ABC 8News Senior Reporter Nate Eaton
